The Hebron Volunteer Fire Department

General Information

The Hebron Volunteer Fire Department is the public safety agency of the Town of Hebron. Organized in May of 1935, the department provides emergency fire, rescue, and ambulance services to the 10,000 people residing in this central-eastern Connecticut town.

The Hebron Volunteer Fire Department operates out of three stations throughout town. Company 1 in Hebron center, Company 2 in the Amston section of town and Company 3 on North Street near Gay City State Park.

Company 1, located at 44 Main Street houses an engine-tanker, heavy rescue, tanker, a Fire-Police vehicle and Rescue 510, Hebron's only ambulance.

Company 2, located in its newly opened facilities on Church Street houses an engine-tanker, engine, squad mini-pumper, an all terrain rescue vehicle, and the rescue boat equipped for water and ice emergencies.

Finally, Company 3, located on North Street near Gay City State Park, houses an engine-tanker, a squad mini-pumper, and a brush-fire unit.

The Hebron Volunteer Fire Department proudly operates in conjunction with the Colchester-based KX Dispatch center.  The department not only provides services to citizens of Hebron, but also provides mutual aid assistance to the surrounding towns who in return provide services to Hebron when in need.

Currently, the Hebron Volunteer Fire Department Antique Truck Committee is restoring Hebron's first ever fire truck, a 1937 Ford Sanford fire engine.  Any donations will greatly help the process and would be greatly appreciated.
